Best Way to Clean a Keyboard

My main keyboard is a mess. A receptacle of dirt, random crap and who knows what else. The receptacle… er keyboard is now the “old” Apple white keyboard and it has been  my trusty companion since I bought it to go along with my now defunct PowerBook G4. It has met both Hemispheres of the world and the thing works with no issues whatsoever. Having said that, it has come to my attention that the thing is dirty as hell..So what’s the best to clean a keyboard? Some people tend to pop the keys out, wash them, put them back on. Although an effective method, some keys ended up feeling kinda “odd” afterwards when you push on them. It’s like you can tell things are never going be the same after you pop the keys from your keyboard. It may look clean, but it doesn’t “feel right”.  People with patience do a meticulous cleaning of every key without taking it off. Sure it works, but damn dude you gotta have some patience to clean every single crack and curve of every single key on such confined space. Those are the two main ways that I know of cleaning your trusty keyboard. Both get the job done, but both have their drawbacks included. So let me know if you  have any tips on cleaning your keyboard. My Apple keyboard surely needs a bath, but I wanna know first what’s the most efficient way to go about it. Hit me up with your cleaning tips!
