UT3 on PS3 With Your Keyboard and Mouse
Mark Rein the VP of Epic Games recently confirmed, in a forum post on their UT3 forums, that it will be possible to play UT3 on your PS3 with keyboard and mouse. Now this totally makes the notion of kicking ass in an FPS using a console a reality. No matter what the controller scheme, FPS were meant to be play with a keyboard and mouse. There’s no way around that. Playing an FPS with a gamepad feels awkward, and overall speaking, it’s a tiresome process when you are trying to pull a long play session. Believe me, we went through HALO with Tony on co-op mode on the XBOX and we couldn’t stop wishing that keyboard and mouse was a possible option back then. Especially for that long ass Library map..
Anyhow, it makes me happy to see that developers are trying to give the “right” experience this time around on a console when it comes to FPS. Hearing this, along with the fact that people using their PS3 will be able to download MODs and all of that, really makes the PlayStation3 a worthy contender to experience the next Unreal. Imagine just sitting down, pull out your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, hop online, kick some ass all done via a gaming console. Trying telling to hardcore Quake3 players back in the day! Crazy..
