Finally purchased an iphone!

After two years of holding out for an iPhone, I finally decided to take the plunge and get the new iPhone 3Gs. What held me back so long? First was the fact of switching from T-Mobile to AT&T. I’m now paying about $35 extra per month. Second was the lack of storage. 16GB wasn’t near enough to store my music alone, which adds up to a little over 20GB, let alone podcasts and additional apps I would download. Now with the 32GB iPhone 3Gs I had run out of excuses.

So I woke up at 5:20AM on Friday and was in line at the Apple store by 6AM. By 7:50AM I had my iPhone in hand, very good experience overall (except for some AT&T transfer issues). I’m sure having reserved the iPhone ahead of time made things a little smoother.

So far it’s been a handful of days and I am REALLY enjoying my iPhone. A lot of useful apps, typing is a pleasure, and the flexibility and mobility is unparalleled. So far it has (temporarily) replaced my laptop for everything except designing and developing web sites and using graphic design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

One last thing until I can further review the phone: This thing is an amazing gaming system! I loaded the terminator demo and was shocked at the graphics, performance, and controls. This is truly the device of the future and I hope it only gets better. So far it is worth the extra fee per month along with the price of the phone. Highly recommended, and that’s coming from a former blackberry user.

Oh, and this post was completely written and published directly from my iPhone ;-)

EnragedAmigos to make a comeback!

First of all, sorry for the lack of posts. I currently have over 3 ventures/personal projects, 2 jobs, and more things to do then I can fit into a day. Which is great considering the economic conditions, so no complaints from this side. As for Sebaz, he’s MIA (well, he’s busy working actually).

EnragedAmigos is in the back-burner until I can finish two or more projects and I can dedicate some time to this site. Just bare with us and we’ll be posting a little more often. Thanks visiting and don’t forget about us! :-)

What What (In the butt)…

Yea, it’s been a while. Too many projects going on at the same time including a new venture which leaves me with very little time to dedicate to this blog (let along starting a personal one). I’ll try my best to make some time and dedicate myself a bit more to this site. Also, I noticed the background image doesn’t fit well now that I’m working on my 15″ macbook pro as opposed my 12″ powerbook. I’ll see if I can muster the time for that. I know it’s a quick fix but my time is extremely scarce as of the last few months. Priorities need to be made. Some TLC to come…

Every time I remember the lack of posts on here it makes me a bit sad, so I decided to post at least a quick video that made me laugh. Hope you guys enjoy the video.

Using TextMate to Blog

So this is my first post using TextMate to blog. Having set this up (finally), I can simplify my life just a little by consolidating some of my software. So far TextMate has been an amazing product, even though I don’t know how to truly use it fully yet, it’s obvious how powerful it is. Can’t wait to learn more and grow with it. Michael Sheets over at MacroMates was kind enough to give me a generous discount.

If you have a mac, give TextMate a try. It may not be as flashy as some other software packages but it does it’s job extremely well.

Now that I have this setup, I shouldn’t have any reason to not post more frequently.

2008 Mr. Olympia Top 6 Results

Staying up a bit late at home watching the Mr. Olympia webcast so I thought I’d share the results as it’s happening live. Yesterdays webcast was horrible, and by the way, why the crappy support for mac users? Damn Windows Media Player requirements…

  1. Dexter Jackson (Check for $155,000) - YES!!! Finally, he deserves it!
  2. Jay Cutler (Check for $90,000)
  3. Phil Heath (Check for $60,000) - Should’ve placed higher?
  4. Dennis Wolf (Check for $48,000)
  5. Toney Freeman (Check for $38,000) - Should’ve placed higher, IMHO.
  6. Melvin Anthony (Check for $30,000)

Charles Manson is the Scat Man…

So it’s been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been really busy with work (two as a matter of fact), life, and just plain tired and lazy. That’s still no excuse and I apologize. I’ll try to explain in a later blog post.

As a show of my appreciation for those who still view this site, I’ve posted the above video. It’s a nice scat remix of the infamous Charles Manson. I think you’ll all enjoy it. :-)

Thoughts on Incest…

I know this is a VERY strange topic to touch on, but I’m going for it anyway. I just read an article where a woman had sex with her brother since she was 14 (he was a year older). Personally I don’t have a brother or sister so I can’t really judge this situation, however I do think that while society frowns on this notion it seems hard to believe that this isn’t a common thing. It’s tough to be young and have strong desires and not have a way to experiment, if both parties of similar age are okay with it and take proper contraceptive caution then who says it’s right or wrong?

I appreciate the honesty and frankness of the person telling the story. Considering this is more taboo than homosexuality and probably looked on as equal to pedophilia in our society, it takes immense courage to come out with this story and tell the world.

THIS IS HOW I MAKE BREAD

Trust me, I’ve been around long enough on the internet and I know when somethings going to become viral. This video is going to become viral. Maybe not as much as the Rick Roll or Bill O’Reillys, but still, pretty viral.

Watch this throwback to the late 70’s/early 80’s video and enjoy!

George Carlin died…

When I heard George Carlin died on Sunday my heart just dropped. You see, George Carlin was the first comedian to make me laugh out loud, really think about life, and shock me so much to alter my mentality on many things in life. I think I first heard of George when I was 15 or 16, I saw the HBO special ‘You’re all diseased’ and was in love with his style, his skill, and him. He pushed the boundaries so far that I was in such unfamiliar territory with his “There is no God” act in his special that I remember feeling that God WAS going to strike him.

I didn’t post about this sooner because I was actually grieving a bit. I’m sad I never had the opportunity to meet the man. There were always two people I wanted to do off the top of my head: George Carlin and Adam Duritz. I saw the Counting Crows live once for my birthday, and George I regret never having met or seen.

George has made me laugh a million times and I try to quote him as much as I can. He was a true pioneer and the single most influential comedian in my humble opinion. I grieved more about George than I have about other people I have met that had passed away. I guess I had more of a connection with George whom I never met. I will miss him.
